2019 Seycove Auction

14/11/2018

Mark your calendars for the social event of the season! This year's Seycove Auction is happening on March 2 with a Circus Funhouse theme.
The annual Seycove Auction benefits the Seycove Family of Schools, which is made of Seycove, Dorothy Lynas, Cove Cliff, and of course, Sherwood Park. It is one of the PAC’s primary sources of funding. Last year we received over $8000 from the auction proceeds.

Each school is responsible for contributing to the silent and live auction items. Keep an eye in your child’s backpack for a notice that was sent home on Friday November 9 with respect to contributing to your classroom’s auction item. We are trying something a bit different this year. Rather than asking each class to contribute to a themed basket, we are requesting a $10 contribution. Funds will be used to source and acquire auction items.
There are a few other ways in which we could use your help!
  • Does your family or business have a product or service that can be donated to the auction?  Contact the PAC to make arrangements for delivery and get the form to request your tax receipt.
  • Do you have rewards points? Consider using your Save-on-More, Aeroplan, Airmiles or other rewards programs to redeem points for a gift card, event tickets or other items that can be donated to the auction.
  • Prefer to donate items to a themed gift basket? Closer to the auction date we will be announcing 2 or 3 themed baskets that you can contribute items to. You can expect a beer and/or wine themed basket!
  • Think of us at Christmas. If you receive a gift or gift cards that you know you just won’t use, don’t let it go to waste! We will gladly take it for the auction. In addition, if you receive any baskets or fancy boxes that we can use for packaging auction items, please save them for us and send them to the school in the New Year.
  • Volunteer. There are lots of opportunities for you to help. Representatives from the planning committee will be at next Wednesday’s PAC meeting to talk about their volunteer needs. If you can’t make the meeting, details will be in the subsequent meeting minutes.
  • Attend the event. We will keep you posted on details. When a ticket date is announced, be sure to get your tickets early as they tend to sell out fast. In the mean time, start planning your costumes!

Dear Sherwood Park Families,
Every year the Sherwood Park grade 7 class puts on a Winter Market. Students of all ages can shop for affordable gifts (0.25 - $4.00). This is a popular event and the students love to have the chance to pick out gifts for their loved ones.

The market will be held on Thursday, December 20th.
We will be looking for donations of new or gently used items and are hoping to get over 400 items so that everyone in the school can buy a gift. We would be very appreciative if you start collecting items from around your home. Starting November 15th there will be a box at the front entrance of the school where donations can be placed.

We will also be around on Friday, December 14th after school if anyone wants to drop off larger items.  Items that sell well at the market:  Jewelry, Candles/Candle holders, New bath products (for men and women), Books, Games, Crafts, Scarves, Purses, Ties, Belts, Christmas Ornaments, Kitchen gadgets, Workshop gadgets, Gift cards, Wrapping paper/tissue paper/gift bags

Take this opportunity to re-gift items and make room for your new Christmas presents!

Please email Joanne Partrick if you have any questions.

We thank you for your support,
The Grade 7 Class of 2019 and The Christmas Market Organizing Team
